Ms. Spurlin-Dominik has a long list of volunteer hours with military support organizations, but it has been her dedication, passion and continued leadership of the organization that helped her win this award.
“She not only had the vision to create the organization, but also the daily passion to handle the day-to-day operations, develop new programs, wear multiple hats and guide the organization as we enter into the tenth year of service. Her daily dedication and passion for helping our military, veterans and wounded warriors is very evident from the moment you start talking to her,” said Jessica Semon, Board President and the individual who nominated Ms. Spurlin-Dominik. “She does all of this with a smile on her face, a passion in her voice, and a deep dedication to give back to our military.”

Victoria Scott serves as our Northeastern Regional Director as well as a Member of the Board of Director’s. She became a volunteer with Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet on December 23, 2009 as the National Grant Writer/Researcher.
When as why she does it, she responded:
“Much of my professional and personal life has involved a natural commitment to community service. Volunteering with Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet provides an opportunity for me to give back to those in need, be they humans or creatures, and to those who put their lives on the line. I have always been a strong supporter of the military and while perusing volunteer opportunities for a chance to work with animals, I came across Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet. I was hooked. Soldiers and pets. Pets and soldiers. What could be better!
Every single foster home placement fills me with tremendous respect and admiration for those who invite the beloved pet of a military service member into their home. I truly believe community service and volunteerism are an investment in our future and the people who live in it. Working with volunteers across the country provides an opportunity to interact with interesting and caring people I would never have met under any other circumstance.
Please respect and support our military and always be kind to animals. People too!”
Thank you Victoria for your continued support, dedication and hard work on behalf of Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet!
Jessica Semon serves as the organizations National Marketing & Communications Director as well as the National President of the Board of Directors. She is always going above and beyond – stepping in to cover the CEO position when needed, wearing multiple hats, covering all of marketing/communication needs remotely and helping to adapt the organizations policies and procedures. In addition she does follow-up on any cases where there may be an issue, maintains open communications with the National Office, follows and adheres to the organization’s official policies and processes. She became a volunteer with Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet on February 24, 2009 as the National Marketing & Communications Director.
When asked why she does it, she said:
“To me, its all about giving back to the military community. I’ve been a part of this community as a military dependent my entire life and I feel it is my obligation to help the men and women who serve our country everyday by wearing the uniform. They put their lives on the line for our freedoms, I want to make sure that there is nothing hindering them from doing their jobs to the best of their abilities. Taking care of their pets back home is just one thing they don’t have to think about. It is an honor to help those who serve.”
Thank you Jessica for all that you do for the organization.
Cherie Boudreaux serves as our National Treasurer, Southern Regional Director (including TX Director and the Warriors’ Angels Liaison for San Antonio TX. She goes above and beyond holding multiple positions. In September 2013 she stepped up to fill the role of Warriors’ Angels program Liaison assisting the CEO in establishing the program in and around the San Antonio, TX area. She became volunteer with Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet as the TX Foster Coordination Liaison on September 21, 2011.
When asked why she does what she does, she replied:
“I joined Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet because the organization filled a need no one else had thought of at that time. The fact that I get to assist Veterans facing housing issues strikes home for me because my step-father is a Vietnam Veteran and was homeless for a period of time and had to go through the housing process. It makes me feel like I’m saying thank you in some way every time I am able to help one of our clients.”
Thank you Cherie for all that you do. You serve the organization in so many ways and are a joy to work with!
